There’s No Place Like Blackpool For A New Toto

Fans of The Wizard of Oz will know that there’s no place like Blackpool for a new Toto, Dorothy’s famous and fearless pooch who plays a crucial role in the plot. Now your own mini-hound may have the chance to be Toto, one of the most famous canine characters in film history, appearing in the Blackpool Winter Gardens spectacular Christmas version of this beloved tale. Having recently viewed the original film, I can say that the story stands up very well in this CGI-over-reliant age and now here’s a live version to grace our very own resort.

The show hits the stage on 7th December, running through to 30th of the same month. A perfect complement to your family festivities. Emmerdale favourite Kelvin Fletcher (Tin Man) and X-Factor sensation Holly Tandy (Dorothy) are set for the yellow brick road heading to the Emerald City for an unforgettable adventure. There’s just one little hitch, there is as yet no Toto and that’s where your dog might come in.

Producers want to cast two dogs, which will alternate the part between performances. Winning owners will receive £500 to cover expenses. Does your pooch have what it takes? You can submit your dog for audition by heading to the following link: http://www.wintergardensblackpool.co.uk/search-for-toto/

The Blackpool audition will be 10th August, so little time to waste. If he or she gets through the initial audition, a Grand Final is to be held in the Winter Gardens on Sunday August 26th – which is also World Dog Day. There a panel of guest judges will decide which two pups will be heading to the Emerald City this Christmas. Good luck to you and Fido!

The show looks like an excellent family treat this Christmas. Click your ruby slippers’ heels together and book your tickets at www.wintergardensblackpool.co.uk from just £12.50!
There’s no place like Blackpool, there really really isn’t!
