Get Involved in Blackpool’s New Community Theatre

Ever wanted to get involved in community theatre? Now’s your opportunity: from January, Blackpool community theatre group Th’ESP’s will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm at Blackpool & The Fylde College. Prospective members—or anyone who’s interested in finding out whether community theatre is for them—are invited to come along to a free taster session, from 7-9pm on Tuesday, 16 January or Tuesday, 23 January 2018.

The regular group meetings then begin on Tuesday, 30 January with the goal of bringing together its members skills and interests to develop a production, inspired by members’ stories of Blackpool that will be staged at various locations in summer/autumn 2018. Th’ESP’s is free to attend, thanks to the support of the Big Lottery Fund.

With up to sixteen performer places available, the group, led by Melanie Whitehead and with regular input from other specialist artists, is seeking members interested in all areas of bringing theatre to life. It is, in its own words, “a relaxed, supportive environment for acting, movement, masks, puppetry, script work and games where everyone is given the opportunity to get involved, contribute ideas, and (most importantly) have fun”.

So what are you waiting for? Register your interest for one of the taster sessions at https://www.electricsunshineproject.co.uk/product/thesps
