Scratch The Itch This Thursday
Thinking (or scratching your head) as to what to do this Thursday? Scratch is a modern variety night designed to give performers a platform to share their ideas and for Blackpool audiences to have a great and diverse night out – and its happening this Thursday at the Castle pub.
Each event is curated by Melanie Whitehead from the Electric Sunshine Project to ensure the best variety of performers during the course of the night and audiences are encouraged to offer feedback so that you can develop your ‘act’ in the best way possible.
Melanie said: “We are really aiming for Scratch to feel like much more of a dialogue between performers and audiences. All are invited to offer feedback on the night via an online ‘Zeetings system’ via smart phones – or they can simply fill out comments on an old fashioned form.”
And, Scratch isn’t just for audiences – if you are an actor, poet, musician, singer, writer, comedian or any other kind of performance-artist and looking for a place to showcase your work, Scratch could be a great opportunity for you too.
Scratch is one of a few different performance based activities that are being launched this year under The Electric Sunshine Project CIC (TESP) which was formed in July 2016. TESP is a collective of high-quality workshops, events, projects and performances, primarily produced in Blackpool, that seek to engage those who are least connected to the arts and which can be taken elsewhere.
Scratch takes place this Thursday 30 March at the Castle Pub. Tickets are just £3 on the door or online in advance. To find out more about The Electric Sunshine Project visit electricsunshineproject.co.uk
